PARKER PUBLIC WORKS

  • Owner: Town of Parker
  • Architect: RNL Architects
  • General Contractor: FCI Constructors

This is a new Public Works Facility for the Town of Parker located at Hess Road and Tammy Lane in Parker, Colorado. The project scope is comprised of a new administration and maintenance building on a 12-acre site planned for future expansion. Sitework includes two large “Salt Barns” and twelve large Mag Chloride tanks which are shared with Douglas County Public Works operations. Structured parking canopies are included to protect maintenance vehicles from the weather. Provisions have been made to provide for the future charging of electric vehicles and the future fueling of natural gas vehicles. Sitework also includes numerous concrete wall bins for the storage of gravel, sand, and other maintenance materials. Project challenges included the movement of over 50,000 cubic yards of earthwork to create a useable site, as well as the extensive export of buried trash from the previous Douglas County operations, followed by reclamation of the site.
